QFKC Conference Registration now Open.

Queensland Foster and Kinship Care (QFKC) has been a trusted voice for carers across the state since 1976. In 2025, QFKC’s annual conference will return, offering foster and kinship carers a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and grow. Set on the Sunshine Coast, this inspiring event is led by passionate volunteer Linda Smith and the QFKC conference team. Together they have crafted a program that puts carers at the heart of everything.
Attending the QFKC Conference is more than just a professional event—it’s a chance to join a supportive community. Carers can share experiences, build connections, and gain practical tools for the challenges they face. “Carers deserve to feel seen, valued, and supported,” Linda says. “Our goal is for attendees to leave recharged and better equipped for their journey.”
Thanks to additional funding, the 2025 conference fee for 350 carers has been significantly reduced to $150. The subsidised fee makes it more accessible than ever. Linda credits this achievement to generous sponsors and funding partners. “We work with amazing agencies and supporters who understand the importance of this event. Their contributions make it possible to offer such an affordable price,” she explains.
QFKC also encourages carers to speak with their agencies about covering the conference fee. Many agencies have supported carers this way in the past, ensuring as many as possible can attend.
“This event is designed to enrich carers on every level—from professional skills to personal growth,” Linda adds.
The QFKC Conference is a place for carers to reconnect with old friends, build new relationships, and share knowledge within the foster and kinship care community. Reflecting on the 2024 conference held on the Gold Coast, a Kinship Carer supported by Kummara Limited and Infinity Community Solutions Ltd (KICS) shared, “It’s a chance to network, share experiences, and stay updated.” Other carers praised the knowledge-sharing sessions, which inspired conversation to support the children and young people in their care.
In 2025, an expanded exhibition area will feature organisations offering resources and support for carers. These range from NDIS providers to family-based care agencies.
While the speaker line up is still in development, QFKC is committed to delivering an exciting mix of impactful leaders and thought-provoking sessions. Linda teases, “Attendees can expect the unexpected. Our goal is always to bring fresh ideas and memorable experiences to the stage.”
At its core, the QFKC Conference remains focused on celebrating the resilience and dedication of foster and kinship carers. Linda emphasises, “This is not just a gathering of delegates. It’s a genuine collaboration aimed at uplifting carers and the children they care for. We want carers to feel valued, heard, and supported.”
The 2025 event will highlight community, connection, and meaningful change, continuing QFKC’s mission to safeguard the rights and well-being of carers and children.
The 2025 QFKC Conference promises to be an unforgettable experience for foster and kinship carers. Don’t miss the chance to join a transformative event focused on growth, connection, and positive change.
